"Donna Schwarzrock, a farm housewife of Hector, Minnestota, wrote 'One Happy Swede' in 1953 for a song-writing contest conducted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA)—the central body of the Rural Electrification Administration (REA) co-ops. Sung to the tune of 'Reuben and Rachel,' it is featured in the NRECA 'Song Book.'"
